Weekly Update

What a nice Sunday! We had rain and wind last night and early this morning. Now this afternoon, it is in the 70s with the sun shining nicely. My granddaughter has one more week of volleyball. They have won 2 and lost 1 of their district games. I have a couple of pictures from the game on Thursday evening.
Anna is #12. First picture is the team warming up before the game.
This is her 2 year of play volleyball and is enjoying it.

Then last evening, there was a fun day rodeo at the stable and not only Anna completing, but her mother in the over 40 group. Anna won 3rd in the 13-19 age group and Deanna, her Mother won 2nd. It was a fun evening as there were only 2 in the 40 over group. Credit for Deanna and the other Mother for taking part as they do not ride, but gave it their all. It was fun to watch Daughter(red hair) and granddaughter. She is the one in the pink shirt.

Now for the progress on my WIPs for the week. For some reason, my picture didn't come out very good, but here they are:

Exciting news

Ellen Chester of With My Needle has featured my stitching of the Alphabet Samplings Book. http://withmyneedle-ellen.blogspot.com/ Check it out. How exciting for a designer to not only comment that they like my stitching, but featured it on their blog. Thank you Ellen. Hope to meet her in person some day.

Weekly Update

Good morning from SE Texas. We are having warm weather and rain. We are expecting a cool front later this week, about time. I have made progress on several of my WIPs this past week. Also looking forward to several ornament exchanges coming up. I am getting my ornaments ready for the exchanges. Also, finishing up an ornament for a prize at a Texas Party coming up. Enjoying our monthly Sat Sitch in this past Saturday. There were 8 of us, stitching and lots of visiting and looking at all the finished items. It is always a lot of fun. Also, enjoyed my Granddaughter's volleyball game on Thursday evening. Her 8th grade B Vollyball team has now won their first 2 district games.

Weekly Update

Good morning all. The weather here in my part of Texas has finally turned to Fall. This morning it is in the low 50s and only warmer up to the low 80s today. Great Weather! I have pictures of my ribbons and rosette won at our Fort Bend County Fair this past week. I am so excited about the rosette as I have entered my crossstitching for many years, but never have won a rosette. I also made progress on my WIPs.
I borrowed some of my stitching that were gifts to my daughter, granddaughter and grandson this past year and entered them. The ornaments will be Christmas gifts as my family and friends are expecting them
I have enjoyed stitching the Alphabet Samplings Book-With My Needle.
I did send pictures to Ellen Chester and had an email back from her. This was so neat to hear back from a designer.

I also entered some of the handmade cards I have made this year.

As you can tell, I am so excited about the Rosette.
I also stitched the panels in the center of my
Garden of Joy-SAL with the Friendly Stitchers Group.
I have 31 of 52 squares stitched.

The four panels are stitched. Now to finish the bricks and the bottom border.

Weekly Update

I am finally finding time to set down and post my weekly update. Our Fort Bend County Fair started on Friday with a parade and then a rodeo that evening. Then on Saturday, went with my daughter to watch Anna ride with the Youth Rodeo Association in Gonzales, TX. Last evening was another rodeo that Anna rode in. She did well all around.
Now for my exciting news. I have entered my crossstitch for many years and only won blue and red ribbons. This year, I finally won a rosette for my Alphabet Samplings Book=With My Needle. More pictures of the others items entries later, but for now here is the rosette picture. Not very good of me, but you're looking at the crossstitch not me, right.
Also, here are pictures of my week's progress on WIPs and another ornament finished.
My granddaughter Anna is carrying the Texas Flag and my daughter, Deanna is next to her carried the Saint Luke's Hospital Flag, a sponer.

Here I am with the rosette and blue ribbon I won at the 2013 Fort Bend County Fair, Texas for my Alphabet Samplings Book-With My Needle

I also won 3 other blue ribbons and red and blue ribbons in the Holiday section, pictures to come.
