Happy Summer and blog update

Summer time is here and it is time to sit in the shade stitching and having a cool drink.
I have been busy with my granddaughter, work, and friends.
I have been stitching and finishing several of my projects also.

Christmas Animals – Heaven And Earth

     “N Needle - Stitcher’s  Alphabet – Brookes Books
July ”Larkspur ”  Flower Of The Month series– Ellen Maurer Stroh

    August Baseball Snowman- Snowman Series–Vermillion-Stitched
“March Winds” Doodle 2015 – Blueladie Designs
created a Birthday Card using it.
“Gingerbread Cookie” Ornament -#10  2012 Ornament Series-Littlehouse Needleworks

Sarah’s “S”-Jim Shore, Book of Monograms.
My niece, Sarah , asked me to stitch her letter in shades of brown.
In May, my sorority (Beta Sigma Phi) chapter hosted a Texas Bluebonnet Preakness Party at a local wine room. 16 of us enjoyed a glass or 2 of wine and enjoyed a lot of friendship. We had a hat contest that was a lot of fun and even bet on a horse to win.

Then the first weekend in June, I went with my daughter and granddaughter to Texarkana, Arkansas for the National Qualifier Rodeo, competing in barrel racing. My granddaughter did very well, but didn't make the top. She ended up in 24th out of 45 girls, only .9 seconds behind the leader.
A lot of great girls running.

Then on June 14, I went with them again to Gonzales, Texas for the YRA rodeo finals for the year.
My granddaughter, Anna, did really good. She ended up in 11th place in pole bending and 15th in barrel racing. It was fun and this year we had a group of young people from Australia join in.
They were a fun group and enjoyed competing with their Texas friends. The pictures are from the grand entry before the rodeo

Have a great summer.

May update

Happy Spring to all. We are starting the spring and summer season here in Texas. Mother's Day was celebrated with my daughter, grandson, and granddaughter and friends. We enjoyed dinner at Carrabra's Italian Restaurant. It was fun as always.

Most of you know I am a Texan, born and raised in Texas. I am one of many that have discovered and love the Redbird Designs for Cross Stitch. I have also found another stitcher that has the same love for cross stitch design. Stitches from The Heart Shop in San Antonio, Texas carries the designs.
Since Stitches from The Heart lost their website, the Redbird Designs have been hard to view. Therefore, Honeybee from the http://thecopperfox.blogspot.com/ has created a Redbird Design catalog. Several stitchers including me, have sent her pictures and you can now view the catalog on her blog. http://thecopperfox.blogspot.com/.
I have just stitched one of the new designs "Texas Impressions". I put it on a tote bag for a gift for a sorority sister. She had requested a bluebonnet cross stitched design from me.
This was my start:
Texas Impressions - Redbird Designs 2017

This past month seems to have gone to quickly without a lot of stitching.
I have managed to stitch on a couple although.
When Cardinals Appear – Blackberry Lane Designs
I love this design
Sarah’s “S”-Jim Shore from the Book of Monograms
I am stitching this for my niece who requested it in shades of Brown.
Texas summer is started to get a little warm, so inside or in the shade will mean more stitching time.
See you next Time.

blog update-Tax Deadline is in the books.

Good morning to all friends in cross stitching and hobby land
I am now able to relax and stitch and do other crafts without being really tired. As I work for a
CPA, tax time is our busiest of the year. I have done a little stitching and finished even in the busy time.

It is also tax time, so I am very busy at work. My stitching time has been cut, but I have been able to put a few stitches in a few of my rotation pieces.

February blog post

Hello all, hope you have had a great month with lots of stitching time. I have found time for a little stitching this month. My first goal was to finish What is a Fireman! by Art Venue for my daughter's friend's birthday. The birthday was Feb 9th and yea I did get it finished and framed in time for his birthday.

I was able to put a few stitches in several of my WIPs as well

KYKS Forum hosted by Cathryn and Iris has a Bingo game each month. I won it January. The winner of the last game calls the new game and sends the prize. I received all the goodies in the picture. Wow.

I had a nice Valentine Day. My daughter and granddaughter treated me with a container of chocolate covered strawberries and my granddaughter gave a bouquet of yellow roses.
My niece Sarah, has asked me stitch her initial "S" for her. I found a nice one in Jim Shore, Mill Hill Monograms book. I have changed the colors to shades of brown that she asked for. This is my next goal to finish, soon I hope.
I enjoyed my sorority's(Beta Sigma Phi) Valentine Ball the Crown Plaza, Houston, TX
on Saturday, Feb. 18th.
Several of us stay the night after the dinner and dance at the hotel and have breakfast together.
My camera was acting up so my pictures were not very good. I will be getting others later, but here are a couple. That is me standing in the Purple.

Have a great week and enjoy life.

A New Year of new beginnings with a blog update.

2017, a new year with new beginnings. January started with my birthday celebrations. Wow, I am now 77 and am blessed with good health, family and friends. My daughter, grandson, and granddaughter treated me to a nice dinner at Café Express.

January continued with lunch with my Lamar Consolidated High School class of '58 classmates and friends at Olive Garden. My class has a get to gather every other month.
I am even stitching this January, too. My daughter's friend is a firemen and has asked me to stitch something for him. I had What is a Fireman? Art Venture in my stash and so that is what I am stitching. His Birthday is Feb. 9th, wish me luck to finish it on time.
I have also put a few stitches in other WIPs in my rotation.
