Blog update with finishes

The two weeks has passed in a hurry it seems. Fall is trying to arrive here in Southeast Texas. We have had temperatures in the 50s at night and 80s during the day. I am slowing down at work as the major tax season is over for this year. Life for me, which includes my family, friends, and work seem to get in the way of my stitching the last two weeks. I have managed to finish a couple of things that I had completed stitching.
Saturday was a fun day for me as I went to Bastrop, TX to watch my granddaughter ride in the monthly YRA rodeo. It is always fun and Saturday, one of my cousins joined us to watch Anna ride.
Here she is getting ready to ride and compete. She had a good day, finishing 7th in pole bending and 12th in barrels.

These are from her last rodeo. She came in 4th.

Here are my completed cross stitch and the progress on a few of my WIPs

Blog Update with Fair Ribbons

Our 2016 Fort Bend County Fair here in Texas is over. I had entered 12 entries in Cross Stitch, Holiday, Arts and Crafts, and Antique, winning 7 blue and 5 red ribbons. The entry in Antiques was my Mother's Bible that was give to her by my Dad for her Birthday Oct. 12, 1944. She used it the rest of her life. She passed at 87 March 31, 2005.
As Oct 17th is the final deadline for Individual tax returns , I have been very busy at work. Also, had family and friends birthdays, so my stitching time as been hit somewhat. I did get a little stitched although. Also, my niece, Kim, got the second Little Women , Jo, framed and hung with Meg.
She loved my stitching and I love her framing.
I also finished another sled piece, a raindeer. Just need to put it on a sled.
Here is the WIPs I made a little progress on.
Christmas Animals – Heaven And Earth
“M” Measure - Stitcher’s  Alphabet – Brookes Book

Blog updated with finish and framed finish

I stitched a lot on Jo Little Women Series by Brookes Books this past week, so my niece could get it framed while her Michaels 70% coupon was still good. She just picked up Meg and what a pretty frame she chose. The framer at Michaels was so thrilled to be able to frame this series.

Next to stitch is "Beth"
I did get stitched a little progress on other WIPs this past week.
“It is Snow Cold” Ornament -#8  2012 Ornament Series-Littlehouse Needleworks
Snowman and Friends Christmas Stocking – Gold Collection Kit
   October  Weather Poems-Sue Cook-Britian’s #1 Crossstitch Magazine-2000 issues
I also finished stitching a kitchen towel for my friends Church fall bazaar.
The design is a Thanksgiving design from Blueladie Designs.
I also took part in an unfinished ornament exchange in the Friendly Stitchers Group. We stitched something and sent it to a partner with the finishing fabric. This is how I finished the one (Friendship Quilt) I received from Mary and the one I stitched(a fall theme) and sent to her.

That's it for this week.
Have a great week.

I entered my Cardinal picture in the Texas State Fair, but didn't place, at least I tried.
My grandson, Christopher turned 22 on Sept 3 and we had a family dinner. Of course I created a special birthday card for him. The verse fits him really well.

Have a wonderful Labor Day and a great week.
