Weekly Update

I tryped the following web site by memory and of course got it wrong. Nancy's correct site is: http://victorianmottosamplershoppe.blogspot.com/ . She has great designs and floss. Check her out.
Sad news is we are losing another local needlework shop. Chris at Creative Stitchery and Framing, Richmond, TX is retiring and closing the shop. We will miss her. I have enjoyed the stitching times at the shop with other great stitchers. I have made a number of great friends also. Chris and other stitchers have helped me improve my stitching and try new things, like stitching on 28 ct linen and evenweave. The shop will be missed. She is having a great clearance sale and of course I had to have more stash. First week of not working has been very good, no stress. I have been checking into a number of options, so I have been busy.
Stitched on my WIPs and made a little progress on them, as well as stitching on ornaments for exchanges. I have received an ornament from Meg, that is pictured. It is really pretty. I will picture the ones I have mailed after my exchanges have been received.
Here are the ones I stitched on this past week:
Acorn Sampler -Periwinkle Promises
Exchange from Meg in Molova
Friendly Stitchers Autumn 2012 exchange
 Alphabet Samplings Book-With My Needle
Snowman and Friends Christmas Stocking-Gold Collection Kit
A lot of background stitching
 Lilly Nora Corbett
More stitching on the skirt.
 Persy Pig-Mill Hill Beaded Kit
Ready for the Beads
 Yellow Rose Birthday Card
Ready for the backstitching and stems
The Halloween House-Ursula Michael Sal with other stitchers

Almost have the flower pletals stitched, only a little left on the top petal.
Happy stitching in the coming week or whatever life throws your way.

Update

Good morning,
What a week. First, I got a sinus infection and was sick. Then  Friday morning, I lost my job. I had been there for 9-1/2 years, but had a boss that was very hard to work for. He had a lot of mood changes and finally he and I had a bad time and he let me good. So next week, it is job looking, I already have several propects to check out. Now for the good news, I have pictured my entered crossstitch pieces that I won blue and red ribbons at the Fort Bend County Fair. There were a lot of great pieces entered, so I am proud of my ribbons. I also finished two ornaments for exchanges and will picture them after my partners receive them. Also, wanted to let you know of two other great blogs for you to check out. http://thedroppedthread.blogspot.com and http://cardsbydruth.blogspot.com for scrapbooking and cardmaking people. Also Nancy at http://thevictorianmottosamplershoppe.blogspot.com is having another great give a way.
I did get a little more stitched on my rotation of WIPs. Here are pictures of my progress:
 Red Birds- Marie Barber
 The Halloween House-U Michaels
 Snowman and Friends Christmas Stocking
 O Holy Night Christmas Card

Weekly Update

I am a little late this week, but have been busy at the Fort Bend County Fair. I work in the cashier's office for the week of the fair, taking a vacation from my full time job. It is fun and I get to see and visit with a lot of people. I did enter 5 crossstitch pieces in the Creative Arts Division and won 4 blue and 1 red ribbon. Will picture them with their ribbons next week. My grandson, Christopher and Granddaughter, Anna took part in the swine show showing their pigs. Christopher was 9 in his divison and Anna was 8 in her division and then both was chosen for the showmanship show. Christopher finished in the top 10 in the senior divison and Anna placed 2nd in the junior division. Both did a great job and of course I have a couple of pictures of them showing their pigs. Even as busy as I am, I still kept my rotation of stitching going. I only stitched a little on each piece, but that is progress to me. Here are pictures of the kids and my WIP progess for the week.
