Weekly Update

Hello to all of you. Hope your week is going good and you are getting a lot stitching done.
My stitching time has been only a little as our Fort Bend County , TX, fair is going on. I volunteer in the Creative Arts department as well as enter some of my stitching. We did set up and judging on Thursday. I entered 10 items and won 10 blue ribbons. Here are pictures of our Needlework Section when we got it set up. The Best of Show was won by a stitching friend of mine, who I suggested she enter. The other ladies are the chairmans of the department.

I did a little stitching on a couple of my WIPs.

I added a snail to my Garden of Joy -2009 SAL Friendly Stitchers Group
I also started another WIP. I got the PCstitch software and have been playing around with it.
I have taken a picture of my granddaughter's first horse, Sleepy and made a pattern that I am now stitching. Here is the picture I made into a pattern and then the piece I am stitching.

That's it for this past week.
Have a good week.

Weekly Update

Good morning, fall is in the air here in Texas. I didn't get as much stitching done this past week as I was on Grandmother duty. My daughter was out of town on business, so I did taxi duty and house setting. Of course I never mind as I enjoy my grandkids. I spent Sunday at the second High School rodeos for the year. It was fun watching my granddaughter and all of the other youth ride and compete. I did get my Joy and Peace ornament finished into an ornament. Here are the pictures.

And of course I watched Anna, my granddaughter start the fall season off in rodeos.
She rode last weekend on Saturday with the Youth Rodeo Assoc and Sunday, The High School Rodeo. Then yesterday, the second Youth Rodeo was in Bellville, TX. She has placed in the top 15 out of over 35-40 youth in Barrels and poles both weekend. I am one proud Grandmother.
Here a couple of pictures.

Have a great week and find a lot of time for stitching.

Weekly Update

I had a very busy weekend watching my granddaughter start her new year of riding with the Youth Rodeo Association and the Texas High School Rodeo Association. Both rodeos were held in Edna, TX at a beautiful arena. There were over 700 runs with appro 250 youth riding Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Then Sunday again over 500 runs and again approx. 250 youth riding. The Youth Rodeo, Anna was competing with 36 youth in poles and 40 in barrels. Then Sunday, in the high school rodeo, competing with 46 other youth in poles and 54 in barrels. She did good as it was her first rodeo with the high school rodeos. There is no breakdown of ages in the high school, with girls from 9th grade thru 12 grade competing together. Anna did place in the middle of both events.
Here is a couple of pictures as she is starting her run on poles.

I did get my Redbirds back from the framer. Here it is and I think the frame is so great and really sets the piece off. I will get a better picture later, but wanted to show it to you.
