Weekly Update

What a busy week, it seems as if it was just yesterday and here it is the beginning of a new week.
My daughter was out of town for business, so spent the evenings housesitting and being a taxi for my granddaughter. She was enjoying the last week of summer, as she starts the 8th grade on Monday.
She will be busy as she will continue her ridings, but will also go out for volleyball and will be part of Theater arts this year. She is also an "A" student. Christopher my grown grandson will start Fire Academy on Monday. Enjoy your children and grandchildren as they grow up so fast.
I did get the poem backstitched, framed and presented it to our Women of the year in our sorority (Beta Sigma Phi) chapter this past year. We had our beginning day with a luncheon on Saturday, that was fun. We don't meet over the summer, so now a new year is beginning. Here is a picture of me giving the poem, which was liked it seemed. Also, tried to get a close-up picture, but it did not turn out very well, but maybe you can get the idea anyway. We had a group picture made, since all of us were there.

Also, made progress on my WIPS this past week and started another ornament.

Weekly Update

A day late posting, but I am here today. Sunday afternoon was spent enjoying watching my granddaughter ride at her monthly riding club. She did really well, improving all the time.
This week I am house sitting and providing a taxi to and from the riding stables as my daughter is out of town on business this week. I have completed backstitching the 33 line poem and am down adding a row of small roses at the top. It will be framed in a 12x16 frame and given to our women of the year beginning day next Saturday. I will have a picture next week of the finished item to show. Here are pictures of my week of WIPs progress.

Weekly Update

Hello from hot, hot, and dry Texas. It is good to stay inside and stitch or read or craft and watch a little baseball, football or your favorite TV. My stitching on my regular rotation only made a little progress this week. I was asked to backstitch a poem and add yellow roses as a border for our Women of the Year in my sorority(Beta Sigma Phi) as her gift the end of this month. Therefore, I stitched a lot of it instead of my regular WIPs. I did however put a few stitches in each of them although. Here are my pictures of my progress for the week.

Weekly Update

Good morning to all. It is sunny, hot and very dry here in my part of Texas. It is a good time to stay inside and stitch. I did get out Thursday evening and watch my Granddaughter, Anna, take part in the August Fort Bend County Youth Rodeo. She has only been riding for a year, but has come a long way. She didn't make the finals, but was in the top group of riders. Of course, I have a few pictures, which include the grand entry of the rodeo.

I did finish another ornament this past week. Also make some progress on WIPs that I am stitching on and started the letter "E" of the Stitchers Alphabet by Brooks Books. Here are the pictures:
