2012 End of year updated blog

Good morning from cold Texas. Here in South Texas we have a cold front with 20s and 30s at night and only in the 50s during the day. Rain is called for Monday and Tuesday. Hopefully all will have a great New Years Eve. My daughter has an annual New Years Eve party that I will be attending.
Christmas was great, spent Christmas eve and Christmas morning at my daughter's. Then Christmas eve afternoon, she hosted the family Christmas. Enjoyed being with all, seeing the children and adults opening gifts and visiting. We are small in number, only 12, but big in love of family. My new picture was made Christmas afternoon. The grandkids are growning up so fast. Anna is 7th grand and Christopher is a senior and will graduate June 1, 2013. They really did it great with my gifts. I received a stitching stand and a cubby organizer(Dianne from LittleHouse has been showing it on her blog). I fell in love with it and I am so excited to have it hung. Also, received a number of scrapbooking supplies for my other hobby. Everyone was excited to see what I had stitched or crafted for them. It is fun to stitch and have my stitching loved.
Here are pictures.

Happy New Year to all, see you next week for the first of 2013.

Merry Christmas to all

Here it is almost Christmas Eve. What a wonderful season. Looking back at 2012, we have had a lot of happiness and sadness, but 2013 will be a new year to start all over again. I am blessed to have a wonderful daughter and two wonderful grandkids, Christopher,18 and Anna 12. Here is my Christmas card I received from them.
I am also stitching one last Christmas gift to my daughter. A stitchery friend on Dec 8 at our stitch in said she remembered my daughter played Golf, so she wanted to give me a chart to do for her. Of course I had to do it for this Christmas. I only need to add the back stitching to it and frame it. I have a frame ready for it.

I have only my gifts to wrap and I can start enjoying the holidays. I will spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with my daughter and grandkids. Then Christmas day afternoon, I will enjoy the day with my brother-in-law, niece, great niece, nephew, his wife and two boys. It will be at my daughter's home.

I did stitch some this week on my WIPs, plan to finish Libby by Jan 30 for my Granddaughter's 13th birthday.
Here are pictures of the WIPs stitched on this past week.

Sunday Update

First let me send my prayers to all in Connecticut. Our weather here in Texas has not been a typical December. Days in the 80s and 60 and 70s at night. Rain today, then a cold spell is due, thank goodness. Will watch our Houston Texans Football today, hopefully a win.
I did finish two Christmas gifts this week. The New Mexico Map and Percy Pig. Now I have been given a pattern called Golfing Chick. My daughter golfs, so I will try to finish it this week for a gift to her. I have made a little more progress on WIPs this past week. I plan to stitch a little each morning on the Golfing Chick and in the evenings on WIPs. Here are pictures.

Sunday update

Happy Holidays to all. Our weather is still in the 80's during the day and 70s at night. This is Texas all right. We are to have a cold spell tonight come in. It may ever go down to the 30s at night this week. I have a had great week. Tuesday evening I hosted our Tuesday night stitch and wine. There were 6 of us. It was fun, stitching, talking and having a glass of wine or two. Then Saturday morning, one of the other regular stitchers hosted the monthly Saturday morning stitch-in. It is also a lot of fun with all of us, stitching and enjoying chatting with each other. One lady brought her baked Christmas cookies, that we all enjoyed. Then yesterday, also had a March of the Nutcracker Luncheon. We had 47 together for the lunch. My nutcracker ornament was loved by the lady that won it. I did get a picture. I also made some progress on my WIPs this week. Here are the pictures;

Weekly Update

Good morning all. It's beginning to feel like the Holidays are here. I have my tree up and almost have all my ornaments on it. I have a number of Hallmark ornaments that I love and use. My handmade ornaments go on a hanging tree on my sunroom door. I enjoy them year round. I love exchanges and have received so many pretty ones. I have a few left that I have stitched for myself. My job search is continuing. I have completed an online tax cpu course to give me the credit hours needed to keep my tax preparer number. I am now completing paper work to become a registered IRS tax preparer and set up my own tax service. I am finding time to stitch as I am doing a number of Christmas Gifts. My family enjoys receiving my stitched gifts. My niece who has become a school Librarian has The Book Shelf hung and has a spot for The Library when I finish it. I received another pretty ornament from an exchange also this week. I enjoy exchanging with other crafters. Here are pictures of my week of stitching.
