Sunday May 29 Update

Enjoying a weekend of staying inside and stitching and finishing stitching pieces. It is in the high 90s here this weekend with no rain which we need badly.
The new picture on my blog was made the night my grandson went to prom with a friend.
He is only a sophmore, but his friend is a senior and invited him to go. Of course, I think he is a good looking Texan.
My progress this past week on WIP seem to go slower, but I did finish my Golf piece(waiting on the frame now) and another Holiday ornament. I finished the holiday ornaments with a blanket stitch, which I had never tried before.
I think I need a little more practice with the blanket stitch.
What a month of May, I have had. I have now won 4 giveaway, just learned of another. WOW, I haven't been this lucky.
 What a pair! True Texans.
First time to try a blanket stitch and I think I need more practice. I stuffed the ornaments with polyfiber.
One more leaf to go and then I will have two pages completed out of 16.
A little more done on the Pumpkin Patch.
Almost have 4 pages completed on both ends of the tablerunner.
Completed the bricks and almost got the brown done for the lettering for the next panel.
All I need to do now is the outlining and I will have another Greeting card done.
The February Violet is coming along nicely. The colors are great.
I finished my first 28ct piece, which I am proud of because I didn't think I could see 28 ct. Now I am waiting on the frame to come in from Kay's.

Sunday May 22th Update

Good morning all. A wonderful day here in Texas and I just read a great saying which I would like to share with you:
The world is not ending today. It is just being rebooted. Please be sure your security software is up to date. Run a full scan of your life and remove any malicious files which may be damaging your joy, stealing your hope, or slowing down your blessings. If you need more instructions, please refer to the users manual which is readily available or put your hands together, bow your head and contact tech support"
Again this past week, I was able to put a few more stitches in my rotation pieces, as well as completing an ornament for the May-July exchange I am part of. It is being sent to Canada on Monday and then I will post a picture when Susan P. receives it.
I stitched a little on the pheasant's tail below the rabbit this week. The is Christmas Animals -HEAD, Stitching on 18ct Aida.
This is the August Weather Poem that was in the Britain's No.1 CrossStitcher Magazine in 2000. I have completed July and will do all 12 of them.
I am now adding the beads on the letter "A". Have a few more white one and then the border done with green beads. I am putting the Stitcher's Alaphet on an afgan, which will take a little while, but will get done. The afghan is 18 ct.
This is my first 28ct piece and I am still in wow mood that I am able to do it. My daughter is excited about receiving it when I am finished. It is GOLF-Hinzeit. I have the frame ordered by my LNS from Kay's Frames to complete it.
I added another square to my Garden of Joy Friendly Stitchers SAL 2009. The kitten is being protected from the rain with an umbrello.
I started stitching my 11th Christmas Card for 2011 holiday season. It is a kit and comes card and enevlope and the stitching is 18ct. aida
I am ready to add the large leaves to the followers on the second page of my Alphabet Sampler Book.
This is being done on 18 ct Linen(my first Linen piece)

Sunday May 15th update

First I want to say Thanks for the great give a way from Susie That I won. I am always excited to win anything, but especially crossstitch.
Last Sunday I started the week off by adding a few more stitches on my Alphabet Sampler Book by With My Needle. I have completed one of 16 pages.

Then Monday I completed the bricks on the third panel of The Library.
Tuesday, I stitched on February Violets by EMS. The colors are great.
Wednesday I started Joy To The World ornament 2010 series LHN. After this one I only have All is Calm to finish for the 2010 series. I have loved all of the 2010 ornaments. I gave a number of them as gifts last Christmas.
Thursday, I almost got the tree completed on the Dec Snowman by Vermillion. Have the face to do next.
Friday, I stitched on the Best Wishes greeting card. It is a very pretty design of bells.
Sat, I stitched on the table runner that I am putting the Noel 2009 SAL on. It is beginning to look good.
Also, stitched on my May-July ornament exchange that I will be mailing to Canada. It is fun to exchange ornaments.
Happy stitching everyone.
I just got an email that I won another give a way from Katy Shawl blog. It is shawlk.com
It is an assortment of scrapbooking items, which I will use as I scrapbook too.

RE: May 8, 2011

I finished a Thanksgiving table runner which is a gift to my niece. This was started by my younger and only sister who passed away May 20, 2010 with ovarian cancer. The cancer was only discovered in Mary of 2010 and it took her quickly and unexpectly. She is missed a lot.

This is my 10th Christmas Card completed for 2011. I am excited that I am getting them done for this year's holiday.
This is The Alphabet Sampler Book by With My Needle. I am doing it on 18 ct linen(my first time on linen). There will be 16 pages in all. I am excited that I have completed 1 page of it.
This is my first time to try 28 ct. I am in awe that I am stitching it. I Think it is coming along ok.
This is a kitchen towel with pumpklins that again was started by my sister.

I am now doing a halloween ornament from this patter book.
My next square completed is a garden bench. This is a 2009 SAL with Friendly Stitchers Group.
I also started an ornament for my May-July exchange. I will picture it after my partner receiveds it.
Happy Mothers Day to All.
