I also have to show off some pictures of my granddaughter(16) who received her Lone Star degree at the Texas State FFA convention in Dallas, Tx this past week. What a great group of kids. Her Mother was able to attend to see it.
Mr. T(as he is called) is the ag teacher at Anna's Foster High School, Richmond, TX

Also enjoy our Lamar Consolidated High School Class of '58 every other month lunch.
We had 15 classmates, spouses and friends join us.
I think we look pretty good, as we all are in our middle 70's and very young at heart.

Have a great week and stay cool and safe with a lot stitching and crafting.

As I continue with Christmas in July, this give-away will be for two charts of mine. Jingle as Ye Enter, Jingle as Ye go which makes an adorable door hanger or wall hanging. It also comes with a free ornament pack. The birds are holding small brass bells hanging from a piece of floss in their beaks. I display mine every Christmas. As a companion chart I made a primitive Merry Christmas chart called Decorating the Tree. Cute little birds decorating this tree and as a bonus for both charts I am including all the over dyed floss and bells! These are some of my best sellers for that reason. It comes with all the instructions and pictures for a simple...yes very simple, finish. No hand sewing it closed when you  as Ye Enter give-away, enter now!

Christmas in July Necessaire give-away!! at Victorian Motto Sampler shoppe

Christmas in July Necessaire give-away!! Enter now!
I love Christmas.....in December, in July....I love to give presents all year long. It's always fun to do the Christmas in July give-aways....so lets give away a necessaire to one lucky winner. If we have over 200 entries I will give away a second one.
****These are hand made by me and filled with trims, felt needle pages, large pin, button bag with charms and buttons, etc.

Lots of color choices....The Giving Quilt makes a beautiful necessaire......but I also love the Williamsburg Sampler fabric (I have it in browns, multi and blues).....and then the REDS!!!! My favorite color of course. The brown floral is the most antique looking pattern I think I have......so many choices! I will let the winner select on the day of the drawing.

Happy 4th of July Weekend

Happy 4th of July Weekend. Wishing everyone a safe and fun 4th of July. The weather here in Texas is hot and hot. It is in the 90s every day with rain showers here and there. It has been a good time to stay in and stitch and craft.
I received a RAK in the mail on Friday from Kim M. She is celebrating her 60th birthday by sending out RAK to other stitchers. What a wonderful idea! She also has a great blog http://WisdomwithNeedleandThread.blogspot.com Thanks Kim M. This is what I received
She used the horse theme for me as she knows I enjoy watching my granddaughter ride.
The little box is hand painted by her with horseshoes and the top is crossstitched. I love all she sent me and will put it to get use.

I am trying a new technique for me in making handmade greeting cards. I am trying the blending effect with markers. My first try turned out ok, but I am hoping to improve with time. I had bought a card that I loved and decided I wanted to try the idea. Here is my result along with the stamp and markers I used.

This is the two cards I made for my grandchildren to give their Mom on Mother's Day
I have also stitched on WIPs and completed another piece in my Hometown Holiday Series by LittleHouse Needleworks.
The three that I have completed in the series are: My House, Toy Store and Sweet Shoppe.
Next to start is Main Street Station.
I made progress on the following WIPs
July Cowboy Snowman- Snowman Series–Vermillion
  1.     October  Weather Poems-Sue Cook-Britian’s #1 Crossstitch Magazine-2000 issues

Snowman and Friends Christmas Stocking – Gold Collection Kit

       “June” Calendar Girl Series-Littlehouse Needleworks

  1.     “Texas Bluebonnet”–The 12 Days of Texas Christmas Series -Redbird Designs.

Have a great week and enjoy whatever life throws your way.
