Blog updat

Where does the time go? It just seems like yesterday that I updated, but it has been 2 weeks. Between work, family and friends with a little stitching, beading and finishing, I do stay busy.
We had a little of rain here in Texas as well as many other parts of the country. Here in Richmond, TX we had 8 inches of rain over the weekend, but today it is in the 70s with sun.
Here is my progress and finishing of my stitching for the last two weeks.

Update on stitchery and life

What a finish for Sept and start for October I have had. Our Fort Bend County Fair here in SE Texas was from Sept 25 thru Oct 4. I volunteer in the Open Adult (Creative Arts) Department as well as enter in several divisions. Also, have been to a couple of Youth Rodeo to watch my Granddaughter ride and compete. She is so much fun to watch. I also work for a CPA as a tax preparer/accountant, we have been really busy with the Oct 15 deadline for filing your 2014 income tax return. The end is in sight so I will start having more time to stitch, yea.
Here is a picture of my entries this year.

I won a Rosette(outstanding) and a blue ribbon on a collection of handmade greeting cards and a blue ribbon on a set of monthly calendars I make as gifts for Christmas in the Arts & Crafts division, a blue ribbon on my first pair of glasses in 1946 in the antique division, 5 blue ribbons in the holiday division and 4 blue ribbons in the stitchery division. It is fun to enter and volunteer.
I did make a little progress on a few of my WIPs also.

update on stitching and life.

The last two weeks have been really busy with work, family, youth rodeos, stitching, and helping get ready for our Fort Bend County Fair and Rodeo here in Texas. I have been able to go to most of the YRA and Texas High School rodeos since the new season started the first of September and watch my 15 year old granddaughter ride and compete. She will ride and compete in the rodeo at the fair tonight. I volunteer in the Open Adult (Creative Arts) Building. We took entries on Wed and Thursday with judging being Thursday afternoon. I of course enter some of my work. Here are pictures of before, during and after the judging of the setup. The fair started on Friday and will go thru Oct 4. Of course, I enter a few items. I won a rosette and blue ribbon on a collection of my handmade cards and  blue ribbon on a set of monthly calendars in the Arts and Crafts division, a blue ribbon on my first pair of glasses(from 1946) in the antiques division, 5 blue ribbons in the Holiday division, and 4 blue ribbons in Needlework and Cross stitch division. Here are some pictures I have taken so far.

I also have done a little stitching on a couple of WIPs and have started Wine Glass by Mill Hill. I want to do several of the Wine Glass for gifts.
