Weekly Update

What a wonderful week I have had. First there were 5 ladies that went on our road trip to the new ABC stitchery shop in Spring, TX. Of course we all added to our stash. It was fun to go to a shop and see the items in person. We have missed our shop in Richmond since it closed. After shopping, we then had lunch and back home(an hour trip). We did a lot of visiting and looking forward to the next time. Then I spent Thanksgiving at my daughter's with family. We ate and played Spades and had a wonderful afternoon together. I have sent my last ornament exchange and Secret Santa Gift off. Now to finish up on a few more ornaments that will be gifts this year. I have given the first ornament- Redbirds Rejoice-Blue Ribbon designs as a gift to the lady I work for. She had commented that she liked an ornament with the date on it each year and of course I date mine. She was proud of it.
I have finished another greeting card-February Doodle-Blueladie Designs. I plan to do the whole year as greeting cards. Check her website out at www.blueladiedesigns.com . Here are my pictures of the completed cards and the WIP items.

Weekly Update

Our fall and winter has come to Texas. Only in the 40s and 50s during the day and it is suppose to freeze Thanksgiving night. Now is the time to stay inside and stitch. My Saturday stitching group went on a road trip to the new ABC Stitchery Shop in Spring, TX. The store has relocated from New Hampshire to TX. It is about an hour from us here in Katy and Richmond. We got there as the store opened at 10am and didn't leave until 1pm. It is a wonderful shop full of lots of great items, including a long wall of thread of all types. Needless to say we all added to our stash. Then we stopped for lunch and a lot of talking. What a fun time we had.
I have a large finish this week. I started The Library-Littlehouse Needleworks in Jan 2010 and have now finished it, Nov 2013. My niece is going to have it framed and put it next to The Bookshelf-Littlehouse Needleworks(also stitched by me) in her Junior High Library where she is the librarian.

Here are pictures of my progress on WIPs for the week

Weekly Update

What a busy week! Spent time with family, friends and managed to still find time to stitch a little.
Our Saturday stitching group is going on a road trip(approx. 1 hour from us) to the new store in Spring, TX. ABC Stitchery has moved their shop from NH to Spring. It opened on Nov. 18th.
Looking forward to it. My Granddaughter, Anna, competed in Rodeos Sat and Sun. She did really well, coming in 4th in poles, 8th in straights and 13th in barrels on Saturday in Huntsville, TX with the Youth Rodeo Association. She is getting better and better. It is fun to watch her.
I finished an ornament and stitched on a couple of exchanges this past week(pictures to come).

Weekly Update

Fall is in the air and the Holidays are coming. What a great time of the year! My Monthly Saturday Stitching group met on Sat. We always have a fun morning, stitching, enjoying everyone's stitched work and their WIPs. We also planning a road trip on Saturday Nov. 23. ABC Stitchery Shop moved from New Hampshire to Spring, Texas. This is only about an hour from us. What fun, after enjoying their online shop, now we can go to the shop.
It has been a busy week with family, friends and work. I did get some stitching in although. Finished a couple of exchange ornaments, also finished a couple of other pieces too. Here are pictures for the week. This first ornament and handmade card went to Melinda in the Brooks Books group exchange.
I took the design from Snowflake Serenade-Country Cottage Needleworks and used Victorian Sampler Motto Thread. Also added beads to the Snowflakes.
This is the ornament I received from Melinda. The ornament is porclain with the crossstitch candle put on it.
