Weekly Updated blog

Hello from Texas. I live in Ricmhond, TX, 30 miles SW of Houston. Only here can we have 27 degrees at night and 63 the next day. That is what happened here last week. Thursday night not only did it drop to 27 but we had rain, ice, and sleet(some close by had a little snow). We don't know how to handle this, therefore driving was not recommended. Schools and a lot of offices were closed on Friday. I did not go to work as I have 27 miles of freeway which had ice and some overpasses were closed. I did get a lot of stitching one. Friday night was another cold night with a little ice and guess what, Saturday afternoon, the sun came out and it got to 63. It was a pretty day as well as today. We are due another round of cold, Tues, Wed, and Thurs. This only happens every few years for us. Hope all of you in the northern areas that have had a lot of snow and real cold weather are ok. Thinking of you. Here are my progress pictures for the week.

Grow Your Blog

I joined this Grow Your Blog hosted by Vicki at http://vicki-2bagsfull.blogspot.co.uk/ last year and have now 252 followers of my blog. What a wonderful way to find new friends near and far. Stitching friends as well as other crafters are the best. They share their lives with us and encourage our stitching and comfort us when needed. Looking forward to finding new friends and renewing friendships with those already here.
My name is Joyce C Frank and have just had a birthday, turning 74. I live in Southeast Texas, 30 miles Southwest of Houston, Texas. I was born in Texas and  have lived here most of my life. A few years although spent in Reading, Pa. and Panama City, Fl. My new year resolution this year was one word; Best. I plan to try hard to be the best in everything I do this year and years to come.
I am a Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and cousin to some of the best people in the world. I am single and still work as a tax preparer and accounting 4 to 5 days a week. My stitching is my way to relax and try to stitch some each day. I have a rotation I follow and have found this works for me. I completed 33 projects in 2013 and hope to finish a couple of big pieces this year. I belong to several online stitchery yahoo groups which are wonderful. There are great support groups for your stitching, encouraging you to stitch and craft outside of your comfort zone. I am also part of several blogs that showcase our stitching. Come join us.
My daughter, Deanna, is a single parent and has done a wonderful job raising my two great grandkids, Christopher, 19 and Anna, 14, this coming Thursday. Christopher is in Fire Academy, choosing becoming a fireman his career. Anna is in the 8th grade and has become a great little cowgirl. She is competing in rodeos and is also in Theater Arts, performing in plays. Being a Grandmother is wonderful.
I will also have a give a way on Feb. 15 and will choose the winner from your comments.
I am now on my way to check out a few of your blogs.
Happy stitching and crafting or whatever life throws your way.

Weekly Update

Busy week with work, family and friends, but a fun one too. Didn't get as much stitching done as I would have liked but did a little. Also, enjoyed watching my Granddaughter ride Friday night. She did really well as always. Here are a couple of pictures, not very good, but at least you can see what she looks like. She got all pink items for her horse for Christmas, doesn't that look great. She warming up in the first picture. Our weather was in the low 40s.

Here are my progress WIPs for the week. Also stitching on a Valentine piece for an exchange in the Friendly Stitchers Group.

Weekly Update

What a wonderful week I have had. My 74th Birthday was Saturday, the 11th. I stitched the morning with our monthly stitch-in in Katy. Stitching, chatting, show and tell of stitching and enjoying fresh Peach cobbler. Then the 10 ladies sang Happy Birthday to me, what fun. Then Saturday evening, my daughter, Deanna, and grandkids, Christopher and Anna, hosted a party at the winery tasting room for me. What fun, with family and friends. Wine, chocolate, stitching patterns and kits and a pretty red scarf were just a few of the great gifts I received. I did get some stitching done also last week. Make some progress of several of my WIPS. I also stitching a piece for a Valentine exchange with the Friendly Stitches group. Here are pictures of the WIPS. Also a few pictures from the party, more pictures to come from my daughter.

First post of 2014

Winter has arrived in Southeast Texas. We are to have a have freeze tonight and tomorrow night, with a  low of 25 degrees both nights. Our hearts go out to the northern USA as they are going hit hard with snow and very cold weather. Thank goodness, we do not have snow due. Stay warm all.
I have reorganized my stitching goals for 2014. They are listed on the side bar. I will still do a rotation of them and hope to finish several this year. I did finish 33 in 2013 and have them listed on the side also. I have also joined the 2014 Turtle Trot this year. Also, I received an ornament, a Pattern book in Germany and a very pretty and sweet note from Judith in Germany. This was part of a July in Christmas exchange with the Friendly Stitchers Group. The first ornament was lost and is still floating in never-never land. She stitched a second one which I received this past week.
Here are the WIPS that I made progress on this past week.
