August blog update

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Texas is having their normal summer, hot, hot and hot and dry. Today in Southeast Texas it is in the high 90s , feeling like 108. Time to stay inside and stitch.
I did finish the wedding piece for my daughter's wedding Oct 20th and even have it framed.

I can now stitch on my rotation pieces and have finished stitching a couple of them.
1.     “Elf” Christmas Friends Sled-Sue Hillis   Ready to add it to the sled and finish the ornament, It will be one of my gifts this year.

“”Nutcracker Ornament” The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery”JCS June ‘17
This will be finished as a pillow ornament and given as a gift.

I also stitched on another ornament for a gift this year.
1.     “Boot” A Western Christmas 2-Redbird Designs
August has been really excited for my family. I have a granddaughter, Anna who graduated from Foster High School, Richmond, TX in May and will be attending Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX this fall. She received a $16,000 scholarship from Rodeo Austin and we all went to the award ceremony in Austin, Texas held at The Bullock Texas State History Museum on August 9. 28 youth from all round Texas received from $4,000 to $16,000 each totaling $400,00. It is wonderful to see what great donors we have in the great state of Texas.

Also, her roommate in her dorm has grown up together from elementary school to college! How ironic! who would have thought?❤️❤️

It is amazing to see how our young people leave for college today.

Time to stitch a little bit now.
Enjoy the rest of Summer.

Good morning,
Hope all of you are staying cool this hot July Summer. Texas is also having a heat wave, 95+ during the days. It is a good time to stay inside and stitch. June slowed down somewhat for me and I have been able to stitch on several of my rotation pieces. I also finished a couple of projects.

April blog update

My new picture at the top of my blog is my new family. My new son in law has 3 girls(16-18-20) and my grandkids are 18 and 23. What a group of great kids. Then my new son in law has a great big family and fun to include them with our family.
Spring is here, even if the weather doesn't agree. It was 48 degrees last evening here in southeast Texas. The bluebonnets are beginning to bloom all around us and they are very pretty as always.
March and April have been really busy for me, as I work for a CPA and it is tax time.
I have actually been able to find a little time for stitching. I am stitching "A Good Marriage" by Lizzie Kate for my daughter's wedding in November. I am also stitching  “If The Shoe Fits”-Sue Hillis for my niece's birthday this month. She loves Halloween.
I even put a few stitching in
1.     When Cardinals Appear – Blackberry Lane Designs
and      “Boot” A Western Christmas 2-Redbird Desigs

Have a great month, see you next month

Feb News

February was a short month, flying by for me. I worked a lot and seem to not stitch as much as I would have liked. I am making progress on "A Good Marriage" by Lizzie Kate. This will be for my daughter as she is getting married in November 2018.

We are excited to add to our family. He is a real net guy. This picture was made at their engagement party the end of January.
I also did finish another of the birds from the Button Up Series. I have now stitched 8 of them.
“June Goldfinch” The Button Up Birdies #4- by Cathy Jean-The Victoria Sampler

I also attended my sorority's (Beta Sigma Phi) Masquerade Gala in February. It was held at the Wyndhasm Hotel in Houston. Several stay at the hotel for the night and have breakfast together before going home. It was as fun time.

Now as we welcome in March and the start of Spring, hopefully we will find time to stitch more.
Live life to the fullest with love and fun.
